About Lynell

My career as a Registered Nurse (RN) began in Oncology and Intensive Care in a hospital setting.  Observing the pain and suffering of patients and their families during end of life crises inspired me to search for integrative means to bring the body into balance and provide an opportunity for healing long before this difficult juncture.

This led to my discovering less invasive, more holistic methods that empower clients to make lifestyle changes and to take charge of their own health. In 2008 I became a Certified Lifestyle Educator and in 2014 a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner to provide me with the skills and tools to better assist my clients, but my initial interest in functional medicine began in the mid 1990’s at the tutelage of Dr Jeffrey Bland, the father of functional medicine.

Conventional Western medicine originated in response to acute illness and traumas and still addresses those issues effectively today.  However, as our 21st Century  lifestyle became more stressful and fast paced, chronic lifestyle conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer, to name a few, increased in epidemic proportions. Functional Medicine evolved to provide  professionals with the knowledge to provide the support for people to make the lifestyle changes that may be preventative, providing people with the knowledge and processes to prevent them from developing these conditions and the support to change the trajectory of their health outcomes.

In response,  people are turning to functional medicine as a more holistic, less invasive way to support their bodies’ healing.

I continue my love of learning by continuing to attend seminars and conferences to learn the latest, cutting edge information to share with my clients.

One of the recent additions to my practice is The Living Matrix, a revolutionary software program that facilitates gathering the data points that help to map out the imbalances and symptoms to assist in more effective use of our time together in developing your individualized treatment plan.
